Description
I have gathered together some 1930's (sailing ship mark) yellow Laburnum Petal dishes that were from my great aunt's estate and divided them into groups in case anyone needs replacements for their own set. This piece is marked Grindley England and has the rectangular sailing ship mark.
Featured is a meat serving platter in a lovely creamy yellow porcelain with the scalloped and ruffled shape of the petal style.
The platter
measures about 12" lengthwise.
There are no chips, cracks, crazing, or stains on this piece. It does have some minor factory marks like paint slips, glaze slips, sand catches in the glaze and some roughness to seams and bases. These flaws were common to the porcelain of the 1930's and 1940's and are considered part of the manufacturing process of those times.
I also have bread plates, vegetable serving dishes, tea and coffee pots and tea cups and saucers in this pattern listed separately.
