Description
Here’s a rare opportunity to purchase a beautiful set of Luis Ortega California style rawhide working romal reins with natural-color buttons, and a leather popper. 12 1/2” popper, 44’” romal, and 43” reins. Stored in a dry display box in a smoke-free home. These reins were authenticated by one of the last employees who worked for Luis Ortega. I personally spoke to him. Beautiful aged look with no real weak points. The reins are unmarked other than the initials “AMB” on the inside of the popper. The initials "AMB", Ada Marie Brown, and her husband, Kenneth Brown, were old-time ranchers in Lafayette, Ca. Ada was also a well known horse trainer and competitor in the horse show world. I knew Ada well, and she told me these reins were made by Luis Ortega. The reins were eventually passed down to my wife who rode with Ada Brown for many years. Ada Brown was an acquaintance of Luis Ortega when his shop was located in Walnut Creek, California. This is the real deal just look at the pictures if you know what you're looking at. The reins are priced to sell. Bid plus actual shipping charges to include insurance. Please email if you have any questions or desire a specific picture. I'm more than willing to work with your "expert" to authenticate these reins if desired. Thanks for looking and good luck. Don't miss out!
