David Bowie would occasionally have bowienet auctions 10 to 15 years ago, usually auctioning autographed items, etc. for charity. One time he auctioned an authentic stage used Outside Tour 1995/6 mannequin. The photos are now gone but the webpage announcing the auction from 2003 still exists on the David Bowie website(go to davidbowie.com/news/bowienetebay-auctions-are-go-again-29986/ for the story).
I won this auction and have had the mannequin ever since. It is in excellent condition, with some roadie bumps and dings from being moved around the world. The arms were not present as originally auctioned. It is a typical store mannequin which has been painted and had lace and cloth attached to with paint and glue for the menacing and cool figure that graced the Outside Tour stage. 'The Heart's Filthy Lesson' video pretty clearly shows Mr. Bowie's idea on creating these props. He obviously saved just about everything from his life's work and this is a very rare opportunity to own a genuine David Bowie stage prop, purchased directly from him through his management company Isolar via the bowienet auction.
The mannequin comes in two pieces, and it will be best to ship in two large boxes for 0. If the actual cost is less than that I will refund that amount.
