Description
Here is another hard to find railroad lantern! This lantern is made by The Adams & Westlake Company. It is their Adlake No. 250 Kero model with a last patent date from 1923. The lantern is lightly embossed DJ&C RY (Detroit, Jackson & Chicago) on the dome top. The lid and top have a medium degree of pitting but the rest of the frame still has a goodly amount of bright factory tin remaining. The frame is solid and tight. There are no major dents and no rusted through areas on the frame and lid.The fuel fount and burner are correct for this model. The burner is embossed ADLAKE on one side of the draft shield and No. 250 on the other side. The fount itself is embossed USE LONG TIME BURNING OIL o nthe top of the fount. Please note there are a couple of holes in the bottom of the fount.
The clear globe has the Cnx hallmark and under that, it is embossed for ADALKE KERO. The globe looks like it could use another cleaning.
