Pair of Old PNG Sepik Figures - PAPUA NEW GUINEA - Mid 20th Century
Two wooden painted figures from the Sepik River area of Papua New Guinea. A true pair, depicting a male and female. Well carved by a talented tribesman, with beautifully painted features on face and body.  Beautifully woven skirt and loin cloth.  Nice patina from handling.  Old, stable wormage throughout. Female figure has large old loss to rear of base. Old partial paper type-written labels on base.
Please examine photos carefully for condition.
Purchased at auction years ago, this is part of my personal collection I am selling to downsize.  Nice!
