This Modesty Skirt is made out of coix seeds, known as Job’s Tears with lumi shells that are all strung on handmade twine fiber that wraps around the waist and ties in the back. This skirt has a long woven twin piece that hangs down the back for decoration. This skirt would be like a petticoat that was woven to provide a curtain of modesty for the young girl. Often times village wide ceremonies accompany important life-cycle events and especially when a girls reaches puberty.
