Early 20th century Oceanic carved wood tribal figure. Stands 23 inches high. Female genitalia exposed under grass skirt (see last photo), suggests this is likely a fertility figure.
Provenance: from the 1992 estate auction of Canadian artist Maxwell Bates (1906-1980) at Lunds Auctioneers, Victoria BC, Canada.
